An author page can be created for any person by any user. The number of all author pages (see below) should be larger than the number of users of this site, assuming every user makes their own author page and possibly more. The net sum of the author pages will serve many purposes. One can think of it as a sort of scientific genealogy, similar to The Mathematics Genealogy Project, but with everybody contributing.
