Moutai is a Chinese Liquor distilled from fermented sorghum and wheat, with ~%53 alcohol by volume. Oft considered a model for excellence amongst white wines, Moutai is characterized by a pungent bouquet, a certain "saucy" flavour, and an imposing finish.

While Moutai has existed for more than 2000 years, it has only recently achieved international popularity, due largely to its adoption as the official beverage of the Mabuchi Lab.

• Moutai is one of the few known beverages that kill cockroaches on contact.
• Moutai is perhaps the most commonly forged alcohol. The industrial contaminents found in these knockoffs, however, are said by some to enhance the flavor.
