- What's the problem? --Anthony E. Miller 14:02, 21 Aug 2005 (PDT)
- If you include a last name with a space in it in the standard template, the automatic links to Arxiv and Google don't really work. There are work arounds but I haven't come up with a good solution yet. Damn Dutch! --John Stockton 17:20, 21 Aug 2005 (PDT)
- There is also a problem in that the automatic arxiv and journal searces use the full name, wheras I, for instance, have published almost all my papers as "H. M. Wiseman". Would it be possible to have a field for alternate name for publication purposes, or something like that. I'm sure I'm not the only one. --Howard M. Wiseman 17:32, 28 Aug 2005 (PDT)
- Thanks Howard... you're right. It's kind of tricky because people prefer different names for google/arxiv/journals. We could fix the problem by adding a new template, but fixing the current one involves en masse changing of all profiles. More and more I'm leaning towards encouraging people not to feel restricted to templates, e.g. click edit on Marcus Silva. They are starting to be more trouble than they are worth... --John Stockton 18:00, 28 Aug 2005 (PDT)
