Section Head
This is a small example of how to write things in a wiki, including TeX, images, and so forth. Click on the top edit link to see how this all is done. If you find a new or better way of doing something, please add it here.
Linking
To link to an external page you could just write the URL, e.g. http://nytimes.com. If you would like to put this link onto a word (as with the <a> tags of HTML) you could do something like New York Times.
If you want to link to an internal page, like entanglement, just write with square brackets Entanglement. This is the reason the logo looks the way it does. Note that this is functionally the same as making an external link which is actually internal, like Entanglement. To make the word that appears different on an internal link use something like Quantum Entanglement.
To link to wikipedia which is a special kind of external site use a link like Einstein.
Images
This is how you put an image in a file. First, upload the file using a unique name with the upload link in the toolbox on the left side bar. Then add a tag like this:
TeX
This is an equation tex example:
![\vec{f}^{(i)} = [ f^{(i)}_x, f^{(i)}_y, f^{(i)}_z]](/images/math/9/f/8/9f83c8043447c2b1f233603e1df4337c.png)
This is an inline tex example ξ2 = 1, it looks okay. Here is an example of an equation array which actually uses a matrix environment
See http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Formula for more about TeX in wikis.
What's the best way to do equation numbering?
Also, check out http://qwiki.caltech.edu/wiki/Special:Preferences to see which way you prefer the TeX to be rendered as you read it.
PDF Links
Here's an example of a link to a pdf file which was uploaded via the upload file link in the toolbox on the left: Adiabatic Elimination Notes (PDF).
Templates
See Templates and any author page, like Hideo Mabuchi, to see how templates work. Note that when you are looking at an instance of a template you should click on the top edit link, not the side ones.
References
See Reference List. Also see this example to see how to use references intelligently.
